Junior Ride Day Sunday March 23 2025
Otway Enduro Club is holding a junior ride day. This event is open to Otway Enduro Club members only (Juniors – up to 16 years can join for $25 per year). The aim of our Junior Ride Day is to encourage our children to have fun on motorbikes, improve their skills and to ride with other Juniors. The ride day is on private property at Barwon Downs.
If you are not a Junior Member please join up online here.
The riding is off-road on both single track and open grassed area. We have set-up two single track loops which include some testing hills. For riders not ready for this, there is an open grassed area available to develop your skills.
Payment and Registration Through Ridernet
The Otway Enduro Club has been forced to move our online payment and registration to Ridernet, we held off doing this for as long as we could but now we need to follow the rules set by Motorcycling Victoria. If we don’t do what they have told us we won’t be given a Ride Day Permit. This means there will be a couple of changes to the way Junior Ride Days happen. The fee will still be $25 as set by the Otway Enduro Club, but Motorcycling Victoria have added a compulsory personal insurance levy of $15 per rider (unless you have a valid Junior Racing Licence). If you have a Junior racing Licence then you won’t need to pay the extra $15. A link Ridernet has been provided at the bottom of this page.
Ridernet Set-Up
A link to Ridernet has been provided at the bottom of this page. In order to register and pay through Ridernet you will need to set-up a Ridernet Account/Profile for your child, this is free, but we are finding a number of members are having trouble with this process. Please note: you don’t need to pay for your Club Membership again in Ridernet. Once you have created your account in Ridernet then go to events and search for Otway Enduro Club, the Junior Ride Day should then appear which will allow you to register your child.
If you are having issues with this process then for this ride only, Motorcycling Victoria will be allowing us to sign-up and pay (CASH ONLY) on the day.
Once signed up, search in Events for Otway Enduro Club and the upcoming Junior Ride Day should be listed.
Parents Help
We are always keen to have extra help, we do already have plenty of help from parents on the ride day, but we are keen to get parents and kids to help with the track set-up the weekend before the actual ride day. This ride track set up will be on Saturday March 22nd. Please ring Gareth Guy on 0437 039 441 if you able to help set-up the tracks on the Saturday, that would be very helpful.
Motorbike Scrutineering
Parents/Guardians please note, the children’s motorbikes will be scrutineered before they can ride. Please make sure their brakes work, wheel bearings are in good order and their clutch and front brake levers have not had the end ball snapped off. The throttle returns to neutral position on its accord after revved. Please use common sense when inspecting your children’s bike, we want these events to safe as they can be and it starts with a safe bike.
