2025 Championship Description, Rules and Terms & Conditions
The most important rule we want you to take from this page is please do not share any of the GPX files with mates, family or your best ‘trust him with my life” friend, thanks for your understanding.

2025 Championship Description
The 2025 Club Championship is not a race it is a collection of “Orientation Events”, please do not share any information about the event on social media. GPX files shared are not official events or race tracks. This is a chance for riders to have some friendly competition with their club members, similar to sharing your run or cycle on Strava with friends and comparing your times.
We want to continue to provide opportunities for our members to feel some friendly competition with club members during our forced exile from our two public events the Black Beauty Sprints and Mule Express for 2025 (due to the objections to our permits) The Webscorer software (if everything goes to plan) will allow the club to hold an eight round series. This type of series and how we run it, could be an exciting prelude to what we can achieve for many years to come.
Championship Explained:
The 2025 Championship will consist of eight rounds, each round is made up of a point to point route. These routes will be released to the entrants of the Championship Series as each round is announced.
GPX Courses
For each course you will be supplied with a GPX file, the file will be available for download on the club website. To read these routes you will need to have a GPS unit eg. Garmin E-trek or GPS software on your phone. There are hundreds of options available, many of these are free so don’t stress about this. The GPS unit/software will give you the location of the route and a track to follow from start to finish. The tracks can be as short as 4.5 kms and as long as 20kms, our aim is that the fastest riders will complete the longest routes in under an hour.
Please note: The GPS route is only for you to get an idea of the track, you are able to pre-ride the track as many times as you want before you can officially record a time that will count towards the championship. This championship is not about being great at following a GPS, but getting the practice will help you for any type of navigation or rally type events.
Automated Timing
Each of your official route times will be recorded through software called Webscorer, you will need to download this on your smart phone, this includes iPhones and Android. A detailed explanation of how to do this will be provided, it is not a difficult process but you will need to read the instructions carefully in order for the process to work.
Round Locations
The Championship round locations will be spread through out the Otways and possible Lal Lal/Elaine. We are currently getting all of these rounds sorted. We are relying on members of the club to track a particular track they like, record a GPX ride of the route and then supply the files to us with a description of the type of ride it is.
Round Release, how will this work?
A round will be released each month from March to October, sometimes there will be two rounds released at the same time, these rounds might be located at a similar location which will mean you can ride two different routes each time you visit the area. For entrants to the Championship, when a round has been released they will need to log into the Otway Enduro Club website and visit the Championship Round page to download the route GPX.
The reason for stepping the release of the rounds is based on trying to provide similar riding conditions for each route. It will also allow us to see a live route leader board and championship points standing, building some tension and excitement as the Championship progresses. Championship entrants will have the flexibility to ride the route at a time that suits their work and/or family commitments.
Scoring System
For each round there will be a points system (refer to the table below). The Championship winner will be the highest accumulated points scorer for the year. Each rider will be able to drop one round for the year, meaning of the 8 rounds only 7 rounds will count, this means if you are unable to ride one of the routes it will not count towards your Championship total.

Championship Trophies
Trophies will be handed out to the first three places of each route in both categories eg. Open (16 to 44 years) & Masters (45+ years). At the end of the Championship we will hold presentation night to present all the trophies to the winners.
2025 Championship – Term & Conditions
Please read these Terms carefully and make sure that you understand them before completing the entry. You should understand that by submitting your entry form (“Entry Form”), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Category Age Conditions
There are two categories for the 2025 Championship. Junior riders 16 and over are allowed to compete as long as their parents understand they will be riding on public land, not private properties. It is solely the responsibility of entrant and their guardian for any actions they take by entering this championship. To be eligible to enter you must have turned 16 by March 1 2025. To be eligible for the 45+ category you must be 45 by March 1 2025.
Webscorer GPS Errors
Please be aware there maybe errors or issues with the Webscorer Automated timing system, it is not an exact science. Sometimes you may ride the whole route only to discover at the end your GPS tracker (through Webscorer) did not switch off at the route end. Yes this will be disappointing for you, but please don’t take your frustration out on the club, we are relying on this software for this Championship series to even be held. Just like any technology there will be issues, particularly when tracking a GPS in thick forests.
GPS Tracking the Riders
The Webscorer Automated timing system has the ability to track each rider, so yes we will be checking very carefully the best times submitted for each round to make sure the rider has stuck to the correct track. Cheating will not be tolerated, if you want a trophy so badly just walk into a trophy shop and buy yourself one.
Pre-riding Routes
Championship Entrants are allowed to ride the routes as many times as they would like before deciding to record and official time (through Webscorer).
Official Timed Rides
Your Webscorer recorded times will be limited to three for each round, your fasted recorded time is the time that will be counted.
Parking near and riding the Courses
I’d like to say use common sense when parking near and riding the courses, but as we know common sense is not very common, so in the interest of keeping this series a secret to the general public, please follow these rules.
- Don’t park right near the entrance or exit of the courses. Park some distance away and ride to the entrance of the track.
- Don’t tear up the entrance to the track by making it so obvious from the road that you have just entered this single track, be smart.
- When you exit a single track slow down and check if there is anyone on the main road waiting for you. They will be able to hear you before they can see you.
- If you ride over a bridge on a track and you can see it needs repairing then finish your ride and return to either fix it or let the club know about the bridge issue and the person who put the track together can fix it.
- Don’t add marks (ribbons or paint on trees) at the start or exit to the track. These tracks are supposed to be hidden, if you make them obvious to the general public then they will get shut down and all the hard work put together by the track builder will be ruined.
- Don’t change the track route, don’t alter/move obstacles or create shortcuts, some tracks are meant to hard.
- Each track will have a rating when you download the GPX file, some will be fast and flowing and others will be hard eg. between a Silver to Gold class HARD. These tracks have been a labour of love for the track makers and they may not want you to ride the tracks outside of the “Navigational Competition”, if this is the case it will be outlined in the track description, please be respective of the track maker’s wishes.
Refunds
Please note if your are injured through out the Championship Series whether this happens before you are even able to record an official course time you are not entitled to a refund.
Insurance (Recreational Registration)
You may only compete in this series if you have Rec Reg on the motorbike you will be riding for each an every round you compete.
Switching Motorbikes
You can ride multiple types of motorbikes in each round in search of your fastest time, you can even ride different bikes for different rounds through out the series.
